Mining is a gathering profession in Winds of Valen. Players can mine various resources, such as those found in the level 50 Crystal Cavern.

Mining Power

Mining Power improves your chance to successfully mine a rock; it's separate from your Mining level. Sources:

Pickaxe (equipped tool, required to mine):

• Copper Pickaxe: +1
• Bronze Pickaxe: +4
• Iron Pickaxe: +12
• Steel Pickaxe: +25
• Dwarven Pickaxe: +50 (best)

Armor:

• Mining Boots: +5 (dropped by Skeleton Miner)
• Mining Gloves: +15 (craftable at Smithing 21: 2x Steel Plate, 2x Steel Bar, 2x Rough Leather)

Power Gems (socketed into jewellery; a ring and an amulet each have their own gem socket, so both can be filled at once):

• Mining Power Gem: +5 (0.1% drop from Gold/Volcanic Gold rocks)
• Strong Mining Power Gem: +10 (members-only, untradeable; drops from Ebony rocks, see the table above)

Stacking the best of everything (pickaxe + gloves + boots + a Strong Mining Power Gem in both the ring and amulet slots) gives 50 + 15 + 5 + 10 + 10 = 90 Mining Power.

There's also a Mining Potion, but it boosts Mining level (+5 for 600s), not Mining Power - a different stat.
